October 2010..."Swimming with the Orcas" Project
The Resort at Deer Harbor, Orcas Island, WA

I was thrilled to be commissioned to paint Orca Whales swimming in the pool at the Resort at Deer Harbor, on Orcas Island.  I used a marine epoxy for this project, thus requiring the respirator...this stuff is toxic!

After painting the Orcas, the Innkeeper wanted the adjacent pool bathroom to be painted in an aquarium style, which I was happy to do.  Finally, as a bonus, I added a fun shower back-drop to the pool shower--an 8' Orca, all seen below.  Enjoy!

(click on each image for more details!)

Here is a baby Orca, swimming at the steps of the pool, for the kids who can't go deeper.

Here, mom and baby Orca swim from the deep end to the shallow.

And this guy is painted on the deep-end wall...swimming towards you!

This "stone wall" was once a plain old entry to a laundry room.
Now it is CUTE!
